Techspan release their new generation “compact” Industrial Hot Air Tool. Improved performance, improved reliability. Fully self contained, with built in ‘induction motor’ for continuous operation. Hot Air up to 800 deg C via the “electronic temperature control”. This machine also offers ”electronic airflow control” for extra process control. The machine boasts technically advanced features including : largest wattage up to 5.8 kw, & largest airflow rates up 950 l/min of any other machine in its class. Plug-in ceramic heating element technology.
For thermo plastic welding, the new Techspan “plug-in” ceramic elements are used in a wide range of plastic welding equipment, including ‘hot air welders’, ‘automatic overlap welding machines’, ‘wedge welders’ , ’extruder welders’ & ‘Industrial Hot Air tools’.

Techspan have supplied NZ’s largest ’sealed ink cup’ pad printer. The machine will be installed later this month at an NZ based customer in Auckland. The new COMEC XP-20 pad printer employs the latest in ’side-way’ ’sealed ink-cup’ technology - with a whopping 250mm in diameter.

Techspan Director, Tim Fastnedge, has been awarded the ‘Paul Tissandier Diploma’. FAI medals and diplomas aim at giving public recognition to those who have made outstanding contributions to aeronautics and astronautics, especially in the field of sporting aviation. They are awarded each year at the Opening Ceremony of the annual FAI General Conference. Techspan wedge welders will overlap-weld geomembrane liners efficiently and reliably at high speeds, up to 5m/minute. The wedge welders are designed to weld a wide range of geomembranes including LDPE, HDPE, PE-C, PP, PVC-P, ECB, EVA and TPO.
Alongside the new plastic welder range, Techspan has released new industrial hot air systems, for integration into machinery for process heating applications. The new industrial hot air units are available from 800W up to 17,400W to suit many process heating applications.

The Standard 50 is the latest product from RINCO ULTRASONICS AG in the 70kHz frequency range. Just as with the larger 20kHz and 35kHz machines from the Standard Series, the new machine is controlled by the ADG generator (Advanced Digital Generator).

Frank Fastnedge, the founder of Techspan, passed away on 17th February 2001, following a stroke. Frank was very well known and respected in the plastics industry, and his passing will be seen by many who knew him and worked with him, as the end of a special era.
