The machinery and equipment sector for the plastics manufacturing and processing industry is again the talk of the town in 2012 with its impressive growth figures. However, these growth rates are only one side of the coin, as the globalising of markets is more volatile than ever and react very quickly to external market factors. Increasing scarcity of resources and the compulsion towards energy efficiency and reduced energy consumption could be mentioned here as examples. There’s no alternative to increasingly efficient use of resources in production and, above all, greater material and energy efficiency in plastics processing, for which reason the creativity and the innovative spirit of the entire plastics industry are in great demand.
FAKUMA is enjoying a relentless booking boom which is currently expressed in terms of two impressive figures: more than 1000 exhibitors and nearly 95% firm booked exhibition floor space. A total of up to 915,000 square feet of overall floor space is available in the ultramodern Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre.
Medical Technology as Dynamic Market Driver:
A further market factor is generating additional demand for participation at FAKUMA, namely the increasing acceptance of modern plastics and their highly diverse range of possible applications in the field of medical technology. And thus the “Medical Engineering” theme park initiated last year and organised by collaboration partner Hüthig Verlag publishers has proven itself a winner, which will be continued in 2012.

Other highlights for product presentation include - system solutions which fulfil requirements for material and energy-saving production of plastic parts. This complex topic is the central thread which runs through the entire process sequence for quality-conscious manufacturing of plastic parts, regardless of whether parts are injection moulded, extruded products or thermoformed parts.
More than 1000 exhibitors, and 95% of all available net floor space already booked, the FAKUMA international trade fair for plastics processing is once again promising to be a very worthwhile visit.
